Ever heard of Monta Vida?

Monta Vida is a coffee distributed solely online, generated from the company 5Linx! I am writing this review because I wanted to unleash the fabulous perks of this simple coffee. No one really knows what it is, or what it does, but this new product is the reason behind the success for my healthy living pledge for 2014.

As most of my friends and family know, I am truly a dumpster when it comes to food. I was always constantly eating, never once thinking about the consequences of the way I ate. Not only was I gaining weight, but I was having health problems due to my terrible diet. I ordered my Skinnny Me Tea Package about two weeks ago, so I wanted to try something in-between to get me kick started on my goal to a healthier lifestyle. I have been drinking this coffee for a week, and literally I can see the difference in my body and energy levels. Not only are the benefits significant, but it also tastes great! I am not a typical coffee drinker because frankly I think its disgusting. However I gave this a try because I heard about its health affects, and learned that it didn't even really taste like coffee. More like a coffee and hot cocoa blend. Mouthwatering.
Oh! Did I mention you can order this coffee pure blend either in the bag, or in the form of K-cups!!!!

Here are some facts about MCT oil, and Ramon seeds:

MCT Oil
MCT (medium chain triglyceride) oil improves the body's absorption and use of Vitamin E, calcium and magnesium. It also may assist you in maintaining a healthy weight. How so? MCTs are a special class of healthy fats that act like a carbohydrate, so it's processed by the body immediately instead of storing it, keeping your energy up.

Ramon Seeds
Ramon seeds contain important (essential) nutrients like protein, fiber and minerals (calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, copper, iron, and selenium). These healthful seeds also contain a series of powerful antioxidants, as well as vitamins A, B, C and E, which are essential in maintaining normal metabolism.

Monday Morning Motivation. #DESTINY

We are all searching for some amazing destiny, resembling the lives of some character or idol. We crave a moment in which we will not only face, but overcome a challenge gloriously, rise to the occasion to forever change life as we know it. Sadly, not everyone's destiny is this exciting; but they are all perfect. We all have a purpose. Preparing yourself to achieve this purpose is your only job in life. This was the way of life for the samurai, who would start training by the tender age of 5. They devoted every moment of their life to achieving their destiny. Like many of our ancestor they found something they were willing to die for and lived to preserve it, welcoming death not as the end to their life but as the fulfillment of their destiny.

We often reflect on the lives of our ancestors and label their way of living as dumb or crazy without even attempting to understand their reasoning. It is apparent, to those who investigate the lives of our ancestors, that they simply had a different meaning for existence; one more connected to nature and the world around them. They understood the fluidity the world and how deeply every living thing was connected and intertwined. That connection still remains in us. It is our intelligence, our spark.

Love it, for it is your soul and it is beautiful. And it is your beautiful soul that will lead you to your destiny.

Your destiny could simply be an event in another person's life, but it is your destiny; be proud of it. Events are important. The interactions of life happen in small factions, we simply put more thought into some of them and relate certain images to others, the current conception of "events” or "occurrences". It is the culmination of these events that create our world. In order for the world to sustain itself you must achieve your destiny. If it lies in love then give your love the world and if you can’t give them the world then make one. Build them a waterfall to kiss under; it doesn’t have to be real or even expensive, it just has to be beautiful. If it lies in sports then give it your heart; work yourself to exhaustion just to get up and do it the next day. Let your blood sweat and tears act as the rain for your success, enriching your intensity and focus as they fall to the field. If it lies in music, sing until your lungs are exhausted, empty and over used. Create a sound that touches the soul and is built from the depths of your own soul. Regardless of what it is, find what is beautiful in your life, the thing you would give your life for, and commit yourself to it. Create an event, something that is beautiful and that inspires others to create an event for themselves. It is this beauty that you will see in your last minutes and it will be perfect.

So give life to life; it is your destiny.

XOXO

SKINNYME TEA DETOX REVIEW!

Here is the review that I watched to inspire my reinstatement to skinny me tea! She reiterates exactly what I would be using the tea for. She did not use the tea to get skinny, but focused more on cleaning out her body and clearing her complexion. She had positive results all around!
Comment below if you have any questions, as I have done the TeaTox before.

Skinny Me Tea :)

Remember I told you guys for 2014 I wanted to live a healthy lifestyle? Well, now seems like a good time to start...

I wanted to start by telling you that I renewed my gym membership! and I started back up with my new obsession, SKINNY ME TEA. I used it once before when I needed a body cleanse, and honestly it worked wonders. I was feeling gross, and really congested internally, and I had heard about this tea from a friend. It is created with all natural spices and herbs, all made to increase metabolism, and encourage body fat loss. The dose is one cup a day, and it really makes a difference! No I am not trying to loose weight. I just want to get my body looking toned while living a healthy lifestyle! Shown below are the different flavors along with the benefits from each tea, this time I'm trying the tea with black elder fruit :)

Detox Herb Tea

Ingredients:

black elder fruit, hawthorn fruit, nettle leaves, chicory root, knotweed herb, lovage root, dandelion root, rosehip peel, sweet flag rhizome, flaxseed, peppermint leaf, fennel fruit, orange peel, Garcinia cambogia, camomile flowers.

  • Black elder fruit, hawthorn fruit and leaves of nettle - supports the proper functioning of stomach and intestines. Black elder fruit is considered to be an effective cleanser of  the body’s harmful waste products. Both black elder fruit as well as hawthorn fruit are slightly laxative.
  • Chicory root, dandelion root and fennel fruit - addition of these three herbs contributes to stronger and more effective effects based on stimulation and stabilization of proper functioning of digestive and urinary systems as well as gallbladder.
  • Lovage root - helps to remove excess water from body and excess of uric acid and chloride ions.
  • Sweet flag rhizome, peppermint leaf, chamomile flowers - through beneficial effect on digestive process they contribute to better absorption of nutritients supplied with food.

I just ordered mine! You should too!!

P.S I will show you my progression as I go.

What is Love?

So what is love?
Here's my definition...

As stated before, I have been blessed to have met and interacted with a handful of powerful women. Some of which were family, some were not. The only thing that is important amongst these many women are the experiences I have had with each. Experiences that left a lasting effect on me while growing up. This valentines day I wanted to sway from the typical "valentine"; I wanted to use this opportunity to express what love really is. I will do that by giving you snippets of how I fell in love...with me.

1.
This first anonymous tribute goes out to a woman who takes pride in independence and self reliance. She is the strongest, most confident person I have ever encountered in my entire life. She gives endlessly and expects nothing in return. She struggles just like the rest of us, but still finds time to cross items off of her bucket list. I love her. She taught me how to be fiercely INDEPENDANT.

2.
This woman is who I aspire to be as I grow old. She cherishes family, and gives even to those who don't deserve. If there is anyone on this earth that I trust it is this woman. I love her. She taught me how to trust.

3.
My next valentine inspires me simply by experiencing life. Whenever I turn my head she is on another trip, soaking in the lavish views of a new and mysterious place. She is never sitting still. I love her. She reminds me that one of my most cherished goals is to see the world.

4.
There is a certain comfort in selfishness. This woman lives by this theory. I love her, because she taught me that sometimes I have to put myself first.

5.
This woman was introduced to me about a year ago. When I first met her she had a certain charm that gleamed of innovation and self made beauty. She lived a life that no one approved of but her. And that's what made her happy. She invented a life that allowed her to bloom and have her voice heard. I love her. She taught me be confident in whatever I do, and that I am a QUEEN.

6.
This woman was recently blessed with a child and one on the way. With work, her children, her husband, and her home life, I'm sure her glass of stress is quite full. However, if you ever look at this woman, she is always smiling. I love her. She taught me to be positive no matter what.

7.
I lost this woman about three years ago to a rare bone cancer. She was 17 years old, and was the bravest person I had ever met. I remember sitting with her on her bed talking about life the day before she passed. She said " I never got to drive, or go to prom, or experience college... but because I'm here with you.. everything seems alright." I love her for that. She taught me that sometimes friendship is the most important thing.

Growing up, I fell in love over and over having met many powerful women. Every encounter leaving a lasting effect on me. Now I am a 20 year old coach, friend, student, girlfriend, daughter, niece, granddaughter, etc. and I am in love with ME. I have the capacity to be independent, trustworthy, well traveled, selfish (at times), inventive, confident, positive, friendly, happy, and a plethora of other things. All of these traits come together to make who I am. And I'm in love.

Happy Valentines Week!
XOXO

Power.

I had an incredible realization today. As a women I am typically looked at as inferior, weak, and simple minded. I am also on the tail end of the spectrum of maturity simply because I am 20. I made the decision that I am no longer going to live by that paradigm. I am intelligent, I have ideas, and I have every intention of starting something new and fresh.

I'm going to make BB known.
I am going to make sure I make a difference.

Cheers to being a powerful woman!

Wait on it...

BLACK HISTORY MONTH! #WeWomenHaveEvolved

To start, I would like to give a HUGE shout out to my long lost sister Christina. She is the reason I picked up blogging. She got me thinking about my personal evolution both as a person and as a woman. She reminds me everyday that I am beautiful and that I can accomplish anything with hard work, a good attitude, and confidence. She is the reason why I am blogging about my evolution. Today, she opened my eyes to the fact that it is black history month. Don't get me wrong, I definitely knew what month it was, I just hadn't had enough time to address it yet. So thank you Christina for getting the ball rolling...

Because it is black history month, I wanted to do a segment on how appreciative I am for each and every black woman in history that paved the way for me to live the life I do today. It is because of their perseverance, persistence, and confidence that we as women have evolved into people who are entitled to rights and a voice. I will forever be grateful for my history.

I am blessed to have powerful women inspiring me everyday to be a better person. I look at each and every one of them as a role model, taking bits and pieces from each, to build a better me.

Happy Black History Month!

Goals!

It never occurred to me how important setting goals is for each and every person that is willing to accomplish something. Along with goals comes with commitment, preparedness, and a sense of accomplishment. Goals are vast and can be used large or small. Something as small as finishing a homework assignment or just simply cleaning your room. Or sometimes as large as graduating, or buying yourself a car.

Over the years I have set a plethora of goals for myself. Some have been modified, some have been achieved, and some have been forgotten. I would like to start this year with a more driven mindset on the idea of goals. I would like to set some goals for myself right here, for the world to see. Hopefully this pressure will compel me to actually fulfill these goals. So to start:

1. I would like to become healthy and fit.
- I can achieve this by eating healthier, drinking lots of water, and finding a workout schedule that works for me!
2. I would like to pay off my $5,000 debt owed to my last college, which will earn me the credits I finished at the college, enabling me to graduate at the end of this semester
3. I would like to find a part time job to ease my money pains
4. I would like to book a trip somewhere with a friend
5. I would like to save up $2,000
6. I would like to grow out my natural hair
- I will do this by sticking to my regimen
7. I would like to be financially independent

Reaching all of these goals will be a triumph, however I am fully equipped and enthusiastic about embarking on all of these mini journeys. Now that I have all of my thoughts written down, I am sure I will be able to accomplish my goals :)

My Natural Hair

I started this blog because I wanted to document my healthy new lifestyle for the new year. I wanted to have a live play by play of the new way of life I intend to pursue. Therefore, to start I want to express my take on a natural hair lifestyle. Growing up I have constantly put my hair through relaxers, heat, and distress. Resulting in breakage, thinness, and lack of length. About a year ago I went on a natural kick, and have not looked back since. LITERALLY. I have had my hair in protective styles ever since I started going natural. Protective styling is, and will always be my best friend. I could not even tell you how long I think my hair is, however I can tell you that my hair is now full, healthy, and vibrant! In order to progress from this point I would like to maintain a healthy regimen! The only consistent product that I use to moisturize is all natural coconut oil. So far is is this product that has helped me bring my hair back up to speed!

My next step with my hair is to try out the MARLEY TWIST!! I will post updates both of my natural growth so far, and after with my new locs! Stay posted!

Aerial Yoga.

Today I had the privilege to attend an aerial yoga class at South Boston Yoga! I went into the experience having no idea what aerial yoga was. I left feeling inspired, calm, and like I had just discovered a new pastime. I felt awakened, and content having taken the class. I highly recommend! Not only is this workout calming, but it is extremely good for blood circulation and muscle stimulation. It is also good for simply putting you in a good mood. I loved this new experience!

What you can expect from me in 2014.

My healthy food journey
My natural hair journey
Healthy fitness living
Motivational quotes and photos
Travel and experiences
Personal evolution

2014.

I have been thinking for quite a while about what I wanted to accomplish with this blog. I want to completely reflect class, health, and happy living. People don't spend enough time bettering themselves. Whether it is physically, mentally, or emotionally. Life is stressful and unpredictable, meaning that we must maintain a healthy mind body and spirit in order to combat with it. It starts and ends with the way we lead our lives. Therefore, for 2014 I am starting a healthy living regimen. I personally would like to get fit, grow out my natural hair, eat healthier, and experience all that I can, no matter what the excursion. Wish me luck :)
